Therapeutic Support Through Creative Care

Services

Supporting Healing Through Art Making

Mental health experiences are deeply personal, which is why Mountain Art Therapy offers therapeutic services that honour each individual’s needs, experiences, and goals. Through Art Psychotherapy and Counselling, we provide a safe and supportive space where people can explore emotions, process difficult experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred care and shaped by the understanding
that wellbeing is influenced by relationships, environments, expectations, and life experiences. Whether through creative expression, therapeutic conversation, or reflective practice, we support individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, burnout, postnatal challenges, and major life transitions. By focusing on emotional safety and compassionate support, we help people move towards healing at a pace that feels manageable and empowering.
Services

A Personalised Therapeutic Approach

No two people experience trauma, anxiety, grief, burnout, or life transitions in the same way. That’s why every service we provide is tailored to the individual rather than following a generic process. We recognise that each person arrives with their own story, emotional needs, strengths, and goals for support.

Creative engagement, therapeutic conversation, and reflective practices are carefully adapted to what feels most supportive in each session. Different creative mediums and therapeutic approaches may be used depending on how a person is presenting emotionally and physically, helping support both mind and body while encouraging emotional expression, nervous system regulation, and self-understanding.

FAQs

Frequently
Asked
Questions

Do I need to be creative to do art therapy?

Not at all. Art therapy is not about artistic ability or creating a finished piece of art. The focus is on the process of using creative materials to explore emotions, experiences, and personal insights. Whether you have never picked up a paintbrush or regularly engage in creative activities, sessions are designed to feel safe, supportive, and free from judgement.

Art therapy combines creative processes with therapeutic support to help people explore emotions, trauma, stress, and life experiences. Through guided artmaking and conversation, clients can process feelings across emotional and physical levels while placing their lived experience at the centre of the therapeutic process. Different materials may be used depending on what feels most supportive during each session.

Yes. Everything discussed and explored within sessions is treated confidentially and managed in accordance with relevant privacy and confidentiality requirements. Creating emotional safety is a central part of our approach, allowing clients to engage openly in the therapeutic process while feeling respected, supported, and secure throughout their care.

Each therapy journey is unique, so the number of sessions required will depend on your individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Sessions run for 60 minutes, with some people benefiting from short-term support while others choose ongoing care. During the initial stages, we work together to determine an approach that feels appropriate and manageable.
